2020 Impact Report
2020 was far from what we anticipated the first year in our new space to look like. We opened, we closed, we evolved our product, we furloughed our team, and had a chance to open yet again. We were quickly shut down but that didn’t stop our team. We made it our priority to engage our community through virtual programming.
All while going through the climate & challenges the year had presented.
Needless to say, we’re incredibly proud of our team and have made it our mission to provide resources for every creator; with this we at REC want to Thank You. Thank you for signing up in the first place, visiting the co-working space, attending our zooms, engaging with us on social, networking amongst each other, and sticking with us & validating what we are trying to build here in Philadelphia.
You are why we do it.
As we outlined in our 2019 Impact Report — as we grow we’re committed to celebrating the wins along this journey & being intentional/transparent in how we document + share our work.
In 2020 we:
- Distributed over $70,000 in Grants to Artists in Philadelphia
- Gave out 50 Sponsored Memberships to REC courtesy of our Partners
- Paid out $129,403 to local Creators via our Agency, Programming, & Retail Departments
- Celebrated our Co-Founders Dave & Will making the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List
Additionally, we’re excited to share more data on our membership breakdown, space usage, educational programming, creative agency, REC relief initiative, & retail space.
2020 wasn’t the year we were anticipating, but it forced us to evolve as a company, as individuals, & most importantly, as a team. Thank you for being a part of it.
